Donette B. Nelson is a Certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse at Kaiser Permanente, San Diego, California. She works in both the acute and outpatient setting. She received her WOCNursing education in 1980 at the University of California San Diego. She has her Masters Degree in Nursing and is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has served two terms on the Board of the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses Society as an area Director. She is a clinical preceptor for several WOCNursing education programs and has mentored several nurses. She loves her work, her patients, and is honored to speak to you today about ostomy challenges in clinical practice.
