Annie is the National Director of Risk Management for the Kaiser Permanente Health Plan where she oversees risk management operations for over eight million Kaiser members. Annie works with multidisciplinary groups across the nation to design and implement loss prevention, risk reduction and service recovery strategies. Annie began her career as a nurse at Kaiser Permanente in 1986 and has worked in a variety of clinical areas including critical care, emergency department, home health and hospice. Annie was the Risk Manager in San Diego and The Director of Clinical Risk Management for the Southern California Region before coming to Program Office in 2005. Annie's legal background was as a defense attorney specializing in the area of Medical Malpractice litigation. Annie is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), she also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alaska and a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law.
