Program Overview:
Complex abdominal wounds may include enterocutaneous fistula and/or exposed mesh. This presentation will enhance understanding of abdominal wall anatomy, explain how biologic mesh may be used by the surgeon, and how to manage exposed biologic mesh in an open abdominal wound from a nursing perspective. New techniques for advanced enteroatmospheric fistula management will also be discussed.

Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this educational program, the learner should be able to:
1. Discuss management of the open abdominal wall wound.
2. Describe enterocutaneous fistula techniques and management of select biologic mesh products.
3. Discuss methods of management and topical therapy selection when encountering exposed mesh products in the surgical wounds.
