Communication is vital to a safe and productive veterinary facility. Regular safety meetings give an opportunity to discuss and resolve safety issues, and a safety committee is highly recommended for all veterinary practices. Scott will discuss how to create and maintain a successful safety committee. The presentation includes discussions for creating a mission statement, establishing and running safety meetings, and keeping members engaged. Additional insight includes a safety incentive program, reporting near misses, return to work policies, and precautions for pregnant workers. If you’re not conducting safety meetings regularly, it is never too late to start.
