Marc Salzberg was born in New York City and raised on Long Island where he presently lives with his family. He is a graduate of the City University of New York, and New York Medical College where he earned his MD degree. Following a Surgical internship in Seattle he did his Emergency Medicine Residency at the Albert Einstein College of medicine in the Bronx, NY.
Following his residency Dr Salzberg pursued an academic career in Emergency Medicine. This was highlighted as he founded and directed the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Emergency Medicine Residency in Manhattan. In 1992 he was recruited to be Chairman of Emergency Medicine at the Baystate Health System in Massachusetts. Another Emergency Residency was started under his leadership. In 1994 Dr Salzberg was named the first Professor and Chairman of the newly formed Department of Emergency Medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. In 1999 he was named VPMA and Chief Medical Officer at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital and medical Center on Long Island and in 2005 he co-founded Stat Health Immediate Medical Care in Smithtown, NY.

Dr Salzberg has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and is currently on the Board of Directors of the UCAOA and is on the Editorial Board of JUCM.
