Dr. Iserson practices and teaches at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center's Level 1 Trauma Center, where he directs the Arizona Bioethics Program, is a Professor of Emergency Medicine, is Medical Director of the Southern Arizona Rescue Association (search and rescue), and chairs the University Medical Center's Bioethics Committee. He is also the founder, funder, and director of the Spanish-language Web site to distribute Emergency Medicine teaching materials throughout Latin America: www.reeme.arizona.edu
He has written ten books, including Demon Doctors: Physicians as Serial Killers (2002), Death to Dust: What Happens to Dead Bodies?, 2nd edition (2001), and Grave Words: Notifying Survivors About Unexpected Deaths (1999). The seventh edition of his popular Getting Into A Residency: A Guide For Medical Students came out in January 2006.
