Damon’s teaching career began on the secondary level where he taught courses ranging from Consumer Math through AP Calculus. Later, he found himself on the campus of Florida State College in Jacksonville where he taught College Algebra, Statistics, developmental math, and life skills courses and served on the Committee for African American Male Student Retention. As an instructor for Rasmussen College Online, Damon served as a subject matter expert in the creation of an online quantitative literacy course and as faculty lead for a live lecture pilot aimed at increasing student performance and retention in online Foundations of Math courses. He presents interactive workshops at various math conferences around the U.S. Damon’s passion is for student engagement, motivation, and success. Damon attended Tallahassee Community College in Florida where he earned an A.A. in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in the Sciences and Pre-Engineering coursework. He then earned a B.S. in Psychology from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and an M.S. in Mathematics Education and Methods of Instruction from Nova Southeastern University.
