Alejandra Rincon, PhD

Alejandra Rincón, Ph.D. is an educator and professional with over 20 years' experience on issues affecting students of color, English Language Learners, immigrant, and Latino students. Dr. Rincón's experience includes efforts at bilingual and multilingual programs within large urban school districts, work at a university setting and 8 years at the Hispanic Scholarship Fund where she managed various programs as well as all aspects of the organization's $30 million annual scholarship giving, and serving as the organization's spokesperson on educational issues affecting Latinos. She currently serves as Chief of Staff to the Vice-Chancellor for Diversity and Outreach at the University of California in San Francisco.

Dr. Rincón is a published author. In 2008, she published ""Undocumented Immigrants and Higher Education: Sí se puede!"", the first book that chronicles in a comprehensive way the history of the fight by immigrant students and their supporters to secure access to college across the United States.     [ Click for More ]
