Laurie Rozakis

Laurie Rozakis, a full professor of English at Farmingdale State College, won the prestigious Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.  Dr. Rozakis earned her BA and MA from Hofstra University and her Ph.D. from SUNY Stony Brook. She has published over 100 books and scores of articles, including scholarship, trade books, young adult books, textbooks, biographies, and reference books.  She is especially noted for her more than twelve books in the “Complete Idiots” series, including The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Grammar and Style, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Writing Well, and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Research Methods.
 
Laurie frequently lectures locally and around the nation and is often interviewed on television as an expert on grammar and other topics. Her appearances include “Live with Regis and Kelly” (vocabulary judge for the “Word of the Day Contest” with Ben Stein moderating) The “CBS Morning Show,” and the “Maury Povich Show.     [ Click for More ]
