Daniel Cleary

Daniel J. Cleary is the recipient of the 2013 Faculty Excellence Award from Lorain County Community College, where he is an associate professor of English and Writing Program Director.  Dan holds a PhD in English (Rhetoric and Composition) from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and an MA and BA in English from the University of Dayton.  He is currently serving a term as a member of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Standing Committee on International Concerns.  As part of service to his community, Dan leads writing workshops for prisoners through the Northeast Ohio Community Outreach Project (NEOCOP), an organization that brings writing instruction to incarcerated men and women and of which he is both founder and Executive Director. Dan is a Faculty Advisor for TeamUP.
