Rick Dollieslager

Rick Dollieslager has been teaching college students for 34 years. His teaching areas include developmental English, writing, and student success. Rick was Chair of the Virginia Community College System’s Tidewater Region Center for Teaching Excellence from 2000-2011. In this job, he provided professional development programs for eight VCCS colleges and made countless presentations himself on topics such as student engagement, learning communities, contextualized learning, cooperative and collaborative learning, teaching developmental populations, teaching student responsibility, teaching with technology, the flipped classroom, and brain development during learning--among a wide variety of other topics. Rick is a member of the English faculty at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, Virginia, has served several terms as President of the Virginia Association for Developmental Education (VADE), and he is a frequent faculty consultant, keynote speaker, and workshop presenter at state and national conferences.     [ Click for More ]
