Michael Bunn

Michael Bunn earned a joint Ph.D. in English & education from the University of Michigan before joining the faculty of the University of Southern California (USC) Writing Program. He also holds an M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Pittsburgh. He has designed and taught a variety of courses at the USC, the University of Michigan, and the University of Pittsburgh—including courses in first-year writing, literature, academic argumentation, cultural studies, creative writing, and professional writing. Michael helps to facilitate a summer orientation for new writing instructors at USC and co-instructs a graduate level theory and pedagogy course for those same instructors. His interdisciplinary research stems directly from his commitment to and passion for teaching; each of his recent scholarly publications is part of an ongoing effort to better understand the various ways that reading might be usefully taught in collegiate writing courses.
