Beth Parfitt

Elizabeth Parfitt is a Lecturer in the First-Year Writing Program at Emerson College in Boston, MA. She teaches Introduction to College Writing and Research Writing courses, in addition to a graduate seminar titled “Teaching College Composition.” Elizabeth often uses “The City as Text” as a theme for her Research Writing, Boston-based courses, and incorporates both technology and service learning as key pedagogical strategies. Elizabeth holds a MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College, and writes fiction and nonfiction. Her writing has been published in Compendium2, The Chronicle of Higher Education online, Inside Higher Ed, Boston Magazine and Research/Penn State.
Currently, Elizabeth is working with Cengage Learning on an English Composition textbook titled Our World, Our Views. Featuring materials from National Geographic, the text aims to provide practical strategies for navigating the choices, questions and processes that working writers confront on a daily basis.     [ Click for More ]
