Trey Cox

Trey Cox has been a mathematics educator for 27 years. He is a residential faculty member at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Chandler, AZ. Trey received his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from ASU and currently provides professional development opportunities for mathematics teachers at all levels from middle school to the university in addition to teaching a full course load at the community college including courses from Intermediate Algebra through the Calculus Series. Dr. Cox's teaching philosophy is to employ real-world scenarios in order to draw out mathematical concepts and to use that to motivate students to learn mathematics more deeply and to help them see its relevance in the world today. Dr. Cox has officially become a textbook author of two texts that incorporate a wide array of real-world contexts titled College Algebra: A Make It Real Approach and Precalculus: A Make It Real Approach.
