Sarah Shutt

Sarah Shutt is an Associate Professor and Counselor for Retention Services at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College (JSRCC) in Richmond, Virginia.  She is the Program Head for Student Success courses at the College, where she is responsible for administration and evaluation of approximately 160 sections of the course per year,


 


Sarah is also involved in a number of initiatives to increase student engagement at JSRCC.  A recipient of the Outstanding First-Year Student Advocate award from the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition, she has 20 years of experience in first-year programming.  Sarah is a member of the Learning Communities team at JSRCC, and a strong advocate for student-centered learning.
