Gail Malone, TeamUP Faculty Advisor

Gail Malone is the Director of the Teaching and Learning Center and Title V Project, and Chair of the Education Department at South Plains College in Levelland (a community college system with about 10,000 students and campuses in Levelland, Lubbock and Plainview in the panhandle of Texas).  She holds the doctor of philosophy degree in cognitive development and a master’s degree in English from Texas Tech University.  She is a past president of the Texas Community College Teachers Association, an organization with over 6,000 members.  She has also been an active leader in many other professional organizations, including the Texas Association of Developmental Education, the Texas Chapter of the College Reading and Learning Association (past president), and the International College Reading and Learning Association.  In 1999, she was honored as Texas Developmental Educator of the Year and in 2005, she was recognized by the Texas Legislature for her contributions to higher education in the state.     [ Click for More ]
