Alan Tussy

Alan Tussy in currently in his 24th year as a mathematics instructor at Citrus Community College in Glendora, CA. Glendora is nestled by the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, about 10 miles east of Pasadena.

Tussy attended the University of Redlands during the early 1970’s where he received a B.S. in Mathematics. He returned for a fifth year to student teach and earn a secondary teaching credential. He was hired out of college by the Arcadia Unified School District where he spent 14 years teaching and coaching at the junior high and high school level. While teaching at Arcadia High School, he attended California State University at Los Angeles and received a M.S. in Applied Mathematics in 1980. The Master’s degree led to an adjunct position at Citrus College and that eventually lead to the full-time position that he now enjoys.

Alan and his wife Liz live in Glendora. He and his co-authors, David Gustafson and Diane Koenig, have written ten college mathematics textbooks, including a hard cover and a soft cover algebra series published by Cengage Learning.     [ Click for More ]
