Marilyn Massey

Marilyn Massey received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of North Texas and Master of Arts Degree in Teaching Mathematics from the University of Texas at Dallas. She taught Developmental Mathematics and Mathematics at Collin College in McKinney, Texas for 22 years. During that time she served as Developmental Mathematics Department Chair, a Service-Learning Campus Coordinator, a Texas State Developmental Education Initiative Committee member, and a member of the Collin Retention Council. She was a 22-year member of the college’s Chili Cook-Off Task Force.
Marilyn served as TADE (Texas Association for Developmental Mathematics) Treasurer, Secretary, President-Elect, President, and Past-President, and as a NADE registrar.

She has presented at local, state, national, and international conferences on such topics as Mathematics Anxiety, Active Learning, Cooperative Learning, Improving Academic Success, Incorporating Graphing Calculators, and Improving Critical Thinking.     [ Click for More ]
