Ellen Baker Derwin, Faculty Advisor, TeamUP

Dr. Ellen Baker Derwin is the Associate Dean for Curriculum and Assurance of Learning in the School of Arts and Sciences at Brandman University. She chairs the general education curriculum team for competency-based education (CBE), and she created several competency modules for Brandman’s inaugural CBE program. She also serves on the Program and Assessment Councils for CBE at Brandman. Dr. Derwin has experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and professional development for K-16 educators. She has taught and developed courses in psychology, communications, and student success/study skills. She holds a Ph.D. in psychology, with a media emphasis, from Fielding Graduate University, an M.A. in social ecology from the University of California, Irvine, and a B.S. in psychology from Denison University.
