With an increasing Latino population within our communities, we are seeing an increase in Latino students on our campuses. With the current achievement gap that exists, how can we help these students be successful? Some of these students are dealing with additional challenges outside of the classroom that can be very stressful for them and their families. This session will explore teaching strategies that push past those challenges and lead to student engagement in your classroom. These strategies also extend beyond an individual classroom. We will discuss how to create an inclusive campus culture to ensure these students know they belong.
