Academic writing—and learning—can seem mystifying to students from educational backgrounds that have not prepared them for college. However, most possess well-developed multiple intelligences which, reflected through an academic lens, allow them to shine like the stars they are. In this hands-on session, participants demystify sentence fragments through breaking sentences on pottery, with strategies and handouts provided to integrate this popular classroom activity into a seven-step scaffolded learning process.
