FR04 - Teaching Mindfulness 'From This Moment On'
Date/Time:
November 14, 2014 10:15am - 11:30am
Format:
Synced Audio / Video / Slides
Someone once said, “Time is not a line, but a series of now-points.” How do those words translate in today’s world when speed and convenience are often paramount: a text will do, a Youtube communicates emotion, a Facebook post connects, and an assignment must be dashed off quickly in order to fit it all in. How do we cultivate the wisdom we need to negotiate our very full lives, both personally and academically? This interactive session with FOCUS author Constance Staley will explore ways to teach entering students how to take full advantage of the here and now.
