Establishing positive instructor-to-student relationships is key to developing a classroom environment where students feel supported in, rather than threatened by, the challenges of learning. Despite the many ways the Web facilitates communication, it can present barriers to making human connections. So given the oft impersonal nature of online communication, how DO instructors effectively convey their commitment to their students’ success? This session discusses practical ways to leverage learning technologies to establish an online “presence” in your course that will help you build positive and supportive relationships with students that inspire them to be more focused and successful in their writing/learning.
