This session presents a student-centered holistic approach to ALP course redesign that starts with one of Peter Adams’ principle factors: addressing affective issues. When implementing the ALP model effectively, the course redesign will allow enough freedom for the development-level course to tackle subjects beyond rhetoric, mechanics, and grammar, covering strategies for building community and fostering whole student growth.
