The phrase “competency-based learning” (CBL) is buzzing around higher education these days along with words like “flexible,” “performance-based,” and “mastery.” It’s about the “what” and “how” of learning instead of the “when” and the “where.” In this webinar, you will hear an overview of competency-based learning and the buzzwords surrounding it. You will also consider its relevance to you and your students. Even if your university is not creating a competency-based program, you may find that embedding some relevant competency-based strategies may enhance teaching and learning at your institution. Whether you are interested in direct involvement with CBL, backwards design, assessment strategies, or student focused instruction, you will benefit from “What’s the Word?”
