Just about when students are feeling the mid-semester time crunch, I introduce them to a time management technique in a series of guided reading and writing activities and projects that result in a short essay about how to manage time. The lesson plan I will demonstrate walks students through the phases of the reading process and the writing process and introduces them to the conventions of academic research by modeling that process, connecting and incorporating their reading into their written papers.
