Learn to love the first three outcomes in the new Texas Integrated Reading/Writing course. Presenters Rebecca Goosen, Joanie De Forest and Kina Lara participated in the pilot program for this course. This session will offer insight into the ways they approached teaching students to
  • Locate explicit textual information, draw complex inferences, and describe, analyze, and evaluate the information within and across multiple texts of varying lengths;
  • Comprehend and use vocabulary effectively in oral communication, reading, and writing; and
  • Identify and analyze the audience, purpose, and message across a variety of texts.
