Though most of our institutions offer online coursework and our students demand the convenience of distance education, teaching within online and hybrid programs requires a change in student assessment strategies and pedagogical approaches. This pre-conference workshop will guide instructors in the most critical strategies associated with teaching online, including assessing student preparedness, guiding students in self-assessment of their ability to succeed online, approaching plagiarism and academic professionalism, teaching online writing strategies, and helping students develop time management skills. The workshop includes a myriad of practical activities that online instructors can use within their classrooms, and will help instructors refine their online teaching skills.
