Though most of our institutions offer online courses, online students often fail to understand the range of extra responsibilities when enrolling into an online program. Online instructors must help students understand “four fundamentals of success” for the online learner: motivation, self-discipline, communication, and commitment. The presenter provides an interactive discussion about these four internally-motivated attributes and demonstrates specific activities that participants can bring to their online classrooms to help students understand and develop these key traits.
