Developmental learners need core knowledge, a frame of reference, if you will, in order to engage in college-level writing and reading. The traits of writing, as identified by a group of Oregon instructors, provide them with this frame. This presentation will provide instructors with background information and strategies to incorporate the traits into their instruction.
