Most of us grew up in a time in which interrogating the authority of any given text—or author for that matter—was either unwarranted, or a pursuit relegated to intellectuals and radicals. In our vastly changed world in which research paper sources can come from so many disparate places, students (and faculty) must be given the proper tools to evaluate them. This session will focus on analyzing the fundamental terrain of any text: bias, thesis, etc., to fully comprehend it and situate it within the vast spectrum of “credibility.”
