Many students in developmental education and college reading courses come with basic comprehension strategies. Reciprocal reading also known as reciprocal teaching is an easy strategy to teach to your students and provides them with way to enhance their comprehension of expository text. Research has proven than when students use this strategy it builds the student's metacognitive abilities related to reading.
