Egon Janssen is market manager greenhouse horticulture at TNO. TNO is a Dutch Research and development institute where 4000 people work on technological sciences to helpcompanies with their innovation processes by applying technological knowledge. Egon Janssen is responsible for all greenhouse horticulture related R&D projects, with a turnover of 4 million Euro a year. Focus areas of research are water and energy efficiency, system integration, structural design of greenhouses, sensors and control. My personal ambition is to design optimized greenhouses for every location on this planet, by combining modeling tools and analyzing data from greenhouses in operation.
