Barbara Messinger-Rapport, MD, CMD, PhD is a geriatrician with special interests in polypharmacy, cognitive impairment and dementia. Dr. Messinger-Rapport is Program Director of the Geriatric Medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She is also Director of the Center for Geriatric Medicine of the Medicine Institute at the Cleveland Clinic. She supervises medical students, residents, and fellows in their clinical activity, and mentors them in research and other scholarly projects. She is certified in Geriatric Medicine, as well as Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She is also a Certified Medical Director. She is a past president of the Ohio Geriatric Society and is president elect of the Ohio Medical Directors Association. She sits on the editorial board of JAMDA and is president-elect of the AMDA Education Committee.
