Gaelle Piret

Gaelle Piret has a Master in general Physics from the University of Paris XI, and a master in Micro and Nanotechnologies from the University of Lille 1. She did her PhD in Lille at the IRI http://www.iri.univ-lille1.fr/ Interdisciplinary Research Institute and at the IEMN http://exploit.iemn.univ-lille1.fr/en/ Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology. She pursued her postdoctoral studies one year at PMC http://pmc.polytechnique.fr/ (CNRS- Ecole Polytechnique) and then from 2011,she works at Lund University at the Division of Solid State Physics (and the Nanometer Structure Consortium http://www.nano.lth.se/research) and at the Division of Ophthalmology. She currently investigates the effects of nanowire surface topography and chemistry on the in vitro retinal cell growth. The aim is to sense the best ways to later integrate or implant the nanowires as an active device or as a simple material and bring new alternatives to neuronal disease treatments.
