Soumen Dhara

Soumen Dhara received his M.Sc. in Applied Physics in 2007 from Bengal Engineering and Science University, Kolkata, India. Afterwards, he completed his Ph.D. in 2012 from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India. His Ph.D. dissertation was on the growth of various types of ZnO nanowires based heterostructures and their potential use in UV photodetection. Currently, he is working as a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow in the Mesoscopic Materials Research Lab in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Kobe University, Japan. His research interests include controlled growth of semiconducting nanowires and nanocrystals and its photophysical properties; design and fabrication of efficient UV photodetectors; strain induced effects in nanocrystals. nonlinear optics in rare earth doped nanowires etc..
