Jeffrey Lynn

Jeff Lynn began his neutron scattering career at Georgia Tech and received a doctorate in 1974 while conducting his thesis research as an ORAU Fellow at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He then was a postdoc at Brookhaven National Laboratory before becoming Professor of Physics at the University of Maryland and consultant at the National Bureau of Standards (now NIST). In the 1990's he joined the NIST Center of Neutron Research full time, becoming Adjunct Professor at UMd. He has over 500 publications in refereed journals and an H index exceeding 65. In 2011 he was selected by President Obama to receive the Distinguished Award of Presidential Rank, the Nation's high civil service award.
