Manu Platt

Dr. Manu Platt earned his B.S. in Biology from Morehouse College, and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech/Emory University. After postdoctoral work at MIT, he returned to Georgia Tech/Emory in 2009. As principal investigator of the Platt Lab for Remodeling, Repair, and Regeneration, his research bridges tissue remodeling and systems biology to study cancer, HIV-mediated cardiovascular disease, and strokes in sickle cell disease. Honors include the David and Lucile Packard Foundation Pre-doctoral Fellowship, UNCF/Merck Postdoctoral Fellowship, Georgia Cancer Coalition Distinguished Cancer Scientist grant and award, and NIH Director's New Innovator Award.
