Nevin Heard, MA

Nevin is a counselor education and supervision doctoral student whose research includes racial and ethnic minority populations. He has experience working with the African-American community on a clinical, academic, and organizational level. His experience working with members of the African American community in clinical and mental health capacities involved work with clients with severe mental health issues, in crisis, and outreach. In the academic setting, he worked as teaching associate and co-taught African American students at the elementary, undergraduate, and graduate level. Additionally, he also has experience working with African-Americans on an organizational level through volunteering his efforts to meet the needs of African American communities through national and local organizations including: NAACP, Brothers Reaching Out, SHADES, Hands Across Campus, Multicultural Understanding through New Discovery Opportunities (MUNDO), and the Greater Columbus Mpowerment Center, Impulse Orlando, and the Orlando Mpowerment Group.     [ Click for More ]
