Vivette Henry, MA

Vivette M. Henry, M.A. in Clinical Psychology, is a Jamaican native and resident, who is currently pursuing Ph.D.studies in Counselor Education and Supervision at Regent University. She is Church and Community Counselor at Havenhill Baptist Church in the capital, Kingston, and also cares for patients at her private practice at Edgewater Medical Center in the city of Portmore. She also provides pro bono counseling services within schools and inner city communities. Her professional clinical counseling experience spans over 11 years, and includes addressing relationship and family issues, trauma, mental health counseling, and sexual issues, including those pertaining to orientation, identity, and dysfunction. She is passionate about addressing the high rate of teen-aged pregnancies and domestic violence in her country. In her doctoral dissertation, Vivette seeks to explore the conditions that influence Jamaican wives who are physically abused by their husbands, to remain within their abusive contexts.     [ Click for More ]
