John D. Jacobson

JD Jacobson is a current Master's candidate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His interest in working with children and adolescents began as an undergraduate at Vanderbilt University where he majored in Child Development and Cognitive Studies. Completing his honor’s thesis in developmental psychology, the aspiring counselor discovered his passion for therapeutic interventions. Throughout his graduate career, JD has cultivated an understanding of the intersection of developmental psychology and counseling, specifically Kohlberg’s influence on the therapeutic process. This is evidenced by his poster presentation at that ACA conference: “Prevention of Adolescent Substance Use through a Moral Development and Decision-Making Model.” JD is a proud member of Chi Sigma Iota and the Social Chair for UNCC’s chapter.
