Elizabeth Kinan, Ph.D., Ed.M. As a school counselor, student behavior and bullying was a major concern. In pursue of a PhD, research extended its self to gathering information and finding new information in the field of bullying. Her dissertation entitled, Teacher Attitudes Toward Three Types of Bullying, quantitatively examined a teacher attitudes, likelihood of intervention as well as their method of intervention. Dr. Kinan has spent much time doing educational and professional development work shop trainings around prevention and intervention strategies in bullying, behavioral classroom and school management, as well as promoting positive school climates. This directly influences further research. As much of what has been studied in regards to bullying has been in primary and secondary education, post-secondary has limited research examining attitudes and beliefs of bullying and its impact on perceived level of safety.
