Dohee Kim-Appel, PhD

Dr. Kim-Appel is an associate Professor in the Department of Counseling and Art Therapy at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio. She has more than a decade of experience in the field of Behavior Health working with a diverse population of clients across the spectrum of emotional and substance related issues, including youth, individuals, couples, and families. Kim-Appel serves as an editorial board member of the Journal of Counselor Practice (JCP), a peer-reviewed national publication, published by the Ohio Counseling Association. She is a committee member of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) International Initiative. Kim-Appel has presented papers and training sessions regionally, nationally, and internationally in such topics as workplace violence, family violence, mindfulness, substance abuse & mental illness, and Therapeutic Jurisprudence.
