Kurt L. Kraus, PhD

Dr. Kurt L. Kraus is Professor of Counseling and Chair of the Department of Counseling and College Student Personnel at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. His scholarship has focused on counseling children and adolescents, group work, and life-span development. Kurt has spent many years studying both Buddhism and Buddhist influences in contemporary counseling world-wide. Kurt’s personal practice has had a profound impact on his roles as counselor, supervisor and professor. Dr. Kraus advocates the integration of non-Western approaches to counseling from a complementary rather than an alternative approach perspective. Dr. Kraus has held numerous leadership positions in the profession of counseling, most recently as the facilitator of the 20/20: A Vision for the Future of Counseling a strategic planning initiative comprised of over 30 divisions, organizations and entities co-sponsored by the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the American Association of State Counseling Boards (AASCB).     [ Click for More ]
