Shenika J. Jones, MEd

Dr. Shenika Jones is an Assistant Professor in the Educational Leadership and Counseling Department. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her research and teaching interests include multicultural counseling, social justice advocacy, counseling children and adolescents, and play therapy. She is a licensed school counselor in North and South Carolina. In addition, Dr. Jones is a licensed professional counselor associate in North Carolina. Most of her clinical experience has been in public and private school settings. She has presented at counseling conferences on topics ranging from cyber-bullying to self-care on regional to national levels. Dr. Jones is aware of the most popular trends in counseling and uses current research to guide her in her quest to serve as an advocate within the profession while inspiring students to do the same.
