Pamela S. Lassiter, PhD

Dr. Pamela S. Lassiter received her M.S. degree in Counseling Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi in 1985 and her Ph.D. in Counseling from Georgia State University in 2004. She is an associate professor of Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has over 25 years of work experience as a counselor, clinical supervisor, and administrator in community mental health. Her areas of research include multicultural counseling, gay and lesbian issues in counseling, GLBT parenting issues, substance abuse counseling, and women’s issues in counseling. To date, she has published five book chapters and nine peer reviewed articles related to these counseling topics. She is an active presenter on multicultural issues in counseling at the national, regional, and state levels. She teaches courses in counseling sexual minority clients, women’s issues, group counseling, clinical supervision, and substance abuse counseling. She is Past-President and of the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counseling (IAAOC) where she served as an officer for four years.     [ Click for More ]
