K. Dayle Jones, PhD

The presenter is Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Mental Health Counseling program at large university where she has taught courses in assessment and diagnosis of mental disorders for the last 17 years. She chaired the ACA “DSM-5 Proposed Revisions Task Force” and was column editor for Counseling Today’s “Inside the DSM-5” series. She was a member of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) International Advisory Group for the revision of the ICD-11 section on Mental and Behavioural Disorders. She provides trainings on the DSM-5 nationally and internationally; has made numerous professional presentations at international, national, regional, and state associations; and has published numerous articles about DSM-5 and ICD in psychiatry, psychology and counseling journals. She coauthored an article entitled, “Review of the Proposed DSM-5 Substance Use Disorder” (2012) published in the Journal of Addictions & Offender Counseling.
