Colette T. Dollarhide, Ed.D, NCC, ACS, LPC-S (OH), LPC (SC), is a Senior Lecturer at The Ohio State University, and has been a counselor and counselor educator for 20 years. She earned her master's and doctorate in counseling and educational psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. She earned her bachelor's degree in political science from California State University at Fullerton. For the past 10 years, her main teaching and research focus has been school counseling, but she has taught career counseling, college student development, theories and techniques of counseling, foundations of school counseling, special issues in school counseling (at elementary, middle, and secondary school levels), counseling through play, ethics, consultation, group counseling, pedagogy in counselor education, and practica and internships. She has co-authored two textbooks - one on comprehensive school counseling and another on secondary school counseling -- and she writes about school counseling leadership, supervision, and the work of school counselors.

Dr. Dollarhide has presented papers at national ACES and ASCA conferences and at state conferences on topics in school counseling, supervision, and leadership. She has co-authored a $400,000 grant for drop-out prevention from the AT&T Aspire program. She has served as President of the Association for Humanistic Counseling (AHC) (formerly the Counseling Association for Humanistic Education and Development or C-AHEAD), which is one of the founding divisions of the ACA. Her editorial work includes over eight years as a reviewer for Counselor Education and Supervision (CES), co-editor for a first-ever CES special section on school counselor supervision, four years as a reviewer for Journal of Counseling and Development (JCD), and is currently in her first term as the Editor of the Journal for Humanistic Counseling (formerly the Journal for Humanistic Counseling, Education, and Development).
