Sheri Bauman, PhD

Dr. Sheri Bauman is a professor and director of the Counseling and Mental Health master’s degree program at the University of Arizona. Prior to earning her doctorate in 1999, Dr. Bauman worked in public schools for 30 years, 18 of those as a school counselor. Dr. Bauman conducts research on bullying and cyberbullying. She has given presentations on topics related to bullying at local, state, national, and international conferences, including invited presentations in Melbourne, Australia, Turku, Finland, and Paris, France. She has published two books: Special Topics for Helping Professionals (2007, Pearson), Cyberbullying: What Counselors Need to Know (2011, American Counseling Association), and is lead editor of Principles of Cyberbullying Research: Definition, Measures, and Methods (with Donna Cross & Jenny Walker, 2013, Routledge). She is past editor of Journal for Specialists in Group Work, and filmed two training dvds for counselors with her colleague Dr. Sam Steen.
