Deryl Flynn Bailey, PhD

Dr. Bailey is an Associate Professor at the University of Georgia. He strongly believes in the power of education and is committed to advocating for equitable opportunities to promote positive and successful educational experiences for young people. In 2011 he served as president for the Association of Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) and in 2012, Dr. Bailey was selected and served as the William Allen Boeing Endowed Chair and Distinguished Professor of Education at Seattle University. Most recently he co-authored the 3rd edition of Increasing Multicultural Understanding with Don D. Locke. Over the past 30 years Dr. Bailey has dedicated his life to working with and for children and adolescents of color. His latest project is a book based on his award winning enrichment program entitled Empowered Youth Programs: A Model for Developing and Nurturing Academic and Social Excellence in African American Youth.
